If you clicked on this page, you would probably want to know what this site is about! Just some background, I'm a final year Architectural Engineering student interested in architecture, technology and everything in between. After the school year ended, I spent summer looking for opportunities: internships, competitions and overall looking to sharpen my skills. The year before that I took up an internship at a local architecture and engineering practice, which was relieving after months of online classes. However, this year is a bit different because I'm planning life post-graduation and searched intensively for companies and postgraduate programs.

As I explored the internet, I stumbled upon the a topic about Architects in the Metaverse. "Metaverse", a word I've heard before but never really understood this in context. Is it Virtual Reality taking the internet by storm? Or is it just another world in the gaming industry? After extensive research, I found it to be a broad word used to describe a very deep but fascinating concept. The metaverse could be part of the new world wide web, web 3.0. It's an upcoming revolutionary concept that allows users to contribute in a decentralized world, a concept similar to that of Bitcoin, NFTs and the blockchain. To think of this in a logical manner, the new World Wide Web (web 3.0), will be the home to other decentralized concepts that are now being used as mentioned above. To picture it visually, look at this mind map below:

But what is so special about this you say? Well, this is an emerging advancement in technology that will open opportunities and advancement in the field of architecture and engineering. While surfing the internet, I found very little to none information and resources that help architecture and engineering students, professionals and enthusiasts alike navigate in the new world of web 3.0. This website aims to bridge the gap between architecture along with technology and start an open dialogue on these topics.
